Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Duck Soup Junk Removal, operated by Litvinov Inc (“Duck Soup,” “we,” “us”), handles personal information. Short version: you give us the details we need to quote and do your job, we use them for that, we don’t sell them, and we don’t track you around the web.
Who we are and what this covers
This policy applies when you visit ducksoupjunk.com or contact us by phone, text message (SMS/MMS), email, or through a third-party platform to ask about, schedule or receive junk removal and cleanout services. We serve Nassau County and Western Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.
It applies to the information described below. It does not cover the practices of other companies, such as your mobile carrier or a third-party platform you use to find us.
Information you give us
When you contact us, request a quote, or book a job, you may give us:
- Contact details — your name, phone number and email address.
- Service location — the address or ZIP code where the work is needed, plus access details such as stairs, parking or building rules.
- Photos and videos of the items or spaces you want cleared.
- Job details — descriptions of the items, how much there is, timing, scheduling preferences and special instructions.
- Quote, appointment and job records created when we price, schedule and perform your job.
- Our communications with you — the content of calls, texts and emails between us.
- Payment and transaction details — for example the amount, date and method of a payment. See “Payments” below.
Please share only what we need for your job. Don’t send government IDs, financial account numbers or similar sensitive documents.
Information collected automatically
Website. Our website is a simple informational site. It has no accounts and no contact form, and we do not currently use cookies, analytics, advertising or social-media tracking pixels, session recording, or similar tools on it. Like most websites, the service that hosts our site may automatically log technical information when you visit — such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages requested — to keep the site secure and running. We don’t use that information for advertising.
Phone, text and email links. When you tap a call, text or email link on our site, your device opens your phone, messaging or email app. What you send from there is handled by that app, your carrier or your email provider, and reaches us as described in this policy.
Calls and texts. Our phone and messaging provider may log technical details of calls and messages, such as the number, date, time and length.
Information from third-party platforms
If you contact us through a third-party platform (for example a directory, marketplace or advertising platform), we receive the information that platform passes on to us, typically your name, contact details and request. That platform’s own privacy policy governs what it collects and how it uses it.
Photos, videos and MMS
Many customers send us photos by text so we can quote a job without a visit. We use photos and videos you send to:
- look at what you want removed and the space it’s in;
- identify items and judge volume, weight and access;
- prepare and confirm your estimate and plan the crew, truck and time needed;
- communicate with you about your job; and
- keep a record of the quote and the job where that is useful, for example to document the scope that was agreed.
The crew members and service providers who help perform your job see the photos and details they need to do the work.
We do not use your photos in advertising, on our website or on social media without asking you first and getting your permission. Photos can show more than you intend — people, license plates, papers, the inside of your home — so please frame them around the items.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- respond to your questions and requests;
- prepare, send and confirm quotes;
- schedule, confirm and perform your service, and contact you about it by call, text or email;
- provide customer support and resolve problems or claims;
- invoice, take payment and keep business and tax records;
- keep our website, phone and messaging systems secure and prevent fraud or abuse;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms; and
- understand how our services are working and improve them, based on the requests and feedback we receive directly from customers.
Text messaging (SMS/MMS)
We use text messaging for customer-service and service-related communication: receiving your photos and questions, sending quotes, scheduling and confirming appointments, service updates, and support. We do not send promotional or marketing texts as part of this program. The full details — including how to opt out — are in our SMS Terms.
We use your mobile number and the content of your messages only to communicate with you about your request, or about other messages you have agreed to receive. We do not sell, rent or share mobile numbers or SMS opt-in or consent information with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
The providers that deliver and store our messages (see “How we share information”) process them on our behalf to provide that service to us. You can stop texts at any time by replying STOP.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these ways:
- Service providers that help us operate. For example our telephone and text-messaging provider, website hosting and security, email, the software we use for quotes, scheduling, customer records and invoicing, and payment processors. They handle information to provide those services to us, and we give them only what they need.
- People who perform your job. Crew members and any other service providers who help carry out your job receive the details they need, such as the address, access information, items and timing.
- Legal and safety reasons. When required by law, a court order or a governmental request, or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of our customers, our team or others, or to investigate fraud or security problems.
- Business changes. If our business is reorganized or sold, customer records may transfer to the new owner, who must honor this policy for that information.
- With your direction. When you ask us to share information, or agree that we may.
Payments
This website does not take payments and does not collect card numbers. When you pay for a job, payment is arranged directly with us. If you pay by card or another electronic method, it may be handled by a third-party payment processor, which collects and processes your payment details under its own privacy and security practices. We keep a record of transaction details such as the amount, date, payment method type and confirmation.
Please do not text or email full card numbers or bank details. Questions about a charge or invoice can go to billing@ducksoupjunk.com.
Cookies and analytics
Our website does not currently set cookies or use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. If that changes, we will update this policy before or when it does.
How long we keep information
We keep information about your inquiry and job — contact details, photos, job notes and quote, scheduling and payment records — for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, support you afterward, resolve disputes, keep business and tax records, and meet legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it, or keep it securely until deletion is practical.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards that fit the kind of information we handle, and we limit access to people who need it to do their work. No system is completely secure, and texts, emails and photos travel over carrier and internet networks we don’t control, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and requests
You can contact us at any time to:
- ask what information we hold about you, or for a copy;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong;
- ask us to delete your information — we’ll do so unless we need to keep some of it for legitimate reasons, such as invoices, tax records, an open claim or a legal obligation;
- stop receiving texts (reply STOP to any message) or tell us your preferences for calls and email.
Email support@ducksoupjunk.com or call (516) 824-1750. We may need to confirm it’s really you before acting on a request, and we’ll respond within a reasonable time. Some of these rights depend on the law that applies to your situation.
Children
Our website and services are intended for adults arranging junk removal. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the most recent revision. If we make a material change to how we use or share information, we’ll make that clear on this page.
